In all, 49 bidders, who had participated in the auction, urged the officials to slash the price. Declining their plea, the corporation had invited bids for auction again on December 30, 2014. Maong 25 bidders, only Abdul Khader had quoted Rs.1,850 per tonne, Rs.50 higher than the corporation’s base price.
