WHAT’S UP: TDP urban unit president V. Vamsi with YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in Vijayawada on Friday. Former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna is seen.

TDP urban unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi met YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy here on Friday, fuelling speculation that he would join the YSRCP soon.

Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy came to the city to formally induct Vangaveeti Radhakrishna into the party near the statue of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao on MG Road.

The meeting has come as a surprise for the TDP leaders and cadre. Rumours are rife that another TDP leader and Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani would follow suit.

The TDP is a divided house with district unit president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Mr. Vamsi not going along well. Some time ago, the issue had gone to the notice of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who, it was said, talked to both the leaders and worked out a rapprochement formula. But the latest development gives credence to rumours that all is not well in the Krishna district TDP.
