: The Department of Languages and Culture has constituted a selection committee for the Hamsa and Ugadi awards.
Deputy Speaker of Assembly Mandali Budha Prasad is the chairman .
CEO of The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada (CCV) E. Sivanagi Reddy has been appointed as one of the 16 members. Prof. Nagireddy will assist Mr. Budha Prasad in selection of the awardees in the category of sculpture and also in organising Sri Durmukhi Nama Samvatsara 2016-17, the Telugu New Year celebrations, scheduled for April 8 here.

Isak, prominent Kuchipudi exponent Padmasri Shobha Naidu, mridangam player Padmasri Y. Venkateswara Rao, Telugu film lyricist Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, writer Acharya Kethu Viswanadh Reddy, president of Adhikara Bhasha Sangham Potluri Harikrishna, artist T. Venkat Rao, actor Gummadi Gopalakrishna, prominent violin player Annavarapu Ramaswamy, actor Peddi Rama Rao, and Director of the Department of Languages and Culture D. Vijaya Bhaskar.
