Unidentified miscreants on Sunday night vandalised the bronze statue of Telugu Thalli located on the premises of the District Collector’s office, sparking off protests from Samaikyandhra activists.
The incident was believed to have taken place around 9 p.m.
The area was engulfed in pitched darkness as there was complete power shutdown. The statue was installed in December 2012 marking the celebrations of the World Telugu Conference.
