Techie’s case takes a new turn

State Forensic Lab, Kalina, Mumbai, says no foreign body or DNA concerning the murder suspect was found on the victim’s body

The investigation into the murder of the techie from Machilipatnam appears to have hit a stumbling block with the State Forensic Lab, Kalina, Mumbai, submitting a report that no foreign body or DNA concerning the murder suspect Chandrabhan Sanap was found on the victim’s body.

It has come as a blow to the parents of the techie.

The Hindu , the father of the victim, Professor Prasad, said, “It has come as a bit of disappointment to us, but the Mumbai police have assured us that there was enough circumstantial evidence to nail the accused. We are hopeful that justice will be done to our daughter.”

The techie, a resident of Machilipatnam and employee of TCS Mumbai, had gone missing from Kurla Railway Station on January 5, and her badly decomposed and charred body was found at a Mumbai suburb called Kanjurmarg on January 16.

After about 45 days , the investigating authorities zeroed in on Sanap.
