Police suspect suicide owing to family disputes

A software engineer, D. Someswara Rao (30), allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a private lodge in Nuzvid town on Monday. Family disputes were suspected to be the reason for the extreme step, the police said.

A native of Musunuru mandal in Krishna district, Rao was working in a private company in Hyderabad. He was married to a woman of Reddygudem three years ago, and the couple got separated due to some disputes. Village elders settled the issue and united them but Rao’s wife left for her parents’ house after a quarrel two months ago and did not respond to his calls since then, the police said.

The victim came to Nuzvid for Dasara and checked into a lodge a couple of days ago. After celebrating the festival with his family members, he called up his uncle and other family members and urged them to take care of his parents. He told his kin over phone that he was unable to bear the disputes with his wife and was committing suicide, according to the police.
