Sudden rain that lashed the city on Monday morning may cast a shadow on ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’ on June 2 at Benz Circle, with officials of the Met Department forecasting more showers for the next four days. Meanwhile, the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event.
“We are making massive arrangements, involving more than 4,000 activists,” Krishna District Collector Babu A. said. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will flag off and lead a rally from Maris Stella College to Benz Circle where he will deliver a speech from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
He will also felicitate some eminent personalities who took part in the ‘Samaikyandhra’ agitation.

The rallies that will be taken out on M.G. Road, Skew Bridge and NTR Circle will culminate at Benz Circle. Mr. Babu said LED screens would be installed at vantage points to enable people to watch the event live.
The administration will take necessary measures to lift traffic restrictions imposed at Benz Circle after the Chief Minister’s speech. “We are initiating measures to allow traffic from 10.30 a.m. at Benz Circle,” Mr. Babu said.
As many as eight 108 ambulances and 20 teams comprising doctors will extend emergency medical services during the programme, he said, adding that more than 300 buses would be pressed into service for the convenience of those attending the deeksha.
