MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Friday flagged off a rally by nursing staff of Y.V. Rao Hospital on BRTS Road as part of the awareness campaign of ‘Vande Gandheeyam'. The MP said the police department had not given permission to the protest rally by Y.S.R. Congress leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. “The Satyagraha proposed by the Gandhi Global Family is not a political activity but a social cause to promote Gandhi's values,” he added.
Giving details about the awareness rallies held by the students of nursing colleges, Mr. Rajagopal said as many as 10,000 students representing various nursing colleges took part in rallies in different places highlighting the values of Gandhi such as fight against terrorism, peace, and brotherhood. The students of Vijay Nursing College, under the supervision of Arjuna Rao, took out a rally that passed through Durga Agraharam, Karl Marx Road, and BSNL near Chuttugunta. Another rally was take out at Gurunanak Colony under the supervision of T. Ramana Reddy. Mr. Rajagopal flagged off a rally at Y.V Rao Hospital in which over 1,500 nursing students, Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, and former corporator Narasimha Chowdary took part.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy's programme to the city to participate in the Global Gandhi Family's Vande Gandheeyam on October 2 has been finalised.
The Chief Minister will arrive at the Gannavaram airport on Sunday at 10.50 a.m. and leave for Prakasam district to attend programmes there and return by 2.40 p.m.
He will open the flyover on railway tracks near Milk Project, unveil the statues of Ch. Venkata Rao and Rajiv Gandhi before arriving at the State Guest House to view a presentation on the IT sector.

He will arrive at the Victoria Museum on the M.G. Road to participate in the main programme at 4.30 p.m. and walk in a rally up to the IGMC Stadium and be there till 6.30 p.m.
He will then attend some private local programmes and fly out from the airport at 7 p.m.
