Students resume anti-alcohol campaign

Younger generation urged to stay away from alcoholism

Students of Andhra Loyola College performing flash mob at an awarenessprogramme against alcoholism.

As part of the anti-alcohol campaign ‘All Ka Hell -- Say no to Alcohol and Yes to Life’, initiated by the Department of Visual Communication of Andhra Loyola College, students organised a number of events such as flash mob, logo design and signature campaign here on Wednesday.

The students kick-started the awareness campaign in July with facial painting competition, in which students from about 70 colleges participated. On Wednesday the students organised a flash mob in the college.

The signature campaign was initiated with Fr. S. Raju signing and endorsing campaign. He urged the younger generation to stay away from alcoholism. College Principal G.A.P. Kishore also signed to encourage the initiative of the students.

Vice-Principal (P.G.) Fr. Rex Angelo inaugurated the logo campaign. He lauded the efforts of the students.

Head of the Department, Santosh Kumar Biswal, said that the students would be staging a play at Lenin Centre on Friday. The play was written by students and would be enacted by them, he said. He also said that a marathon run would be hosted from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to the college on December 8. The students will be sporting specially designed T-shirts carrying the message on anti-alcoholism.
