About 5,000 students from various colleges and schools formed a human chain around Indrakeeladri, the abode of goddess Kanakadurga, in Vijayawada on Monday protesting against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Responding to the call given by Poura Samaja Vedika, the students were on the streets from 9.30 a.m. till noon and raised slogans against the Union government and the Congress for their decision to divide the State. Students said that AICC president Sonia Gandhi should imagine the sufferings of students if the State was divided.
Poura Samaja Vedika president Tumati Premnath said that all MPs from Seemandhra should vote against the Telangana Bill if comes to Parliament and all the MLAs from 13 districts should express their strongest reservations against the proposed division.

Mr. Premnath said that the writing on the wall was clear and the Congress government would lose in the coming elections and the results in the recent elections in four states were an indication.
