State disease diagnostic lab to come up in city

The Department of Animal Husbandry (DAH) has decided to establish a State Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (SIADIR) in Vijayawada as a State-level institute along with the posts and staff of Veterinary Biological Research Institute (VBRI), Hyderabad, allotted to A.P.

It constituted a technical committee comprising Venkatesha, Joint Director of Southern Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Bangalore; Sadasiva Rao, Associate Dean of College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram; L. Ratna Kumari, Deputy Director (DAH); Solomon, Civil Engineer at Hindustan Latex Limited; M. Ramakrishna Rao, retired Joint Director of Veterinary Biological and Research Institute (VBRI), Hyderabad; and Head of DAH to suggest the feasibility and guide for appropriate location for establishment of the State laboratory around Vijayawada.
