Stage set for MCET-AC today

Test being held to fill 980 MBBS and 385 BDS management quota (B category) seats in AP and TS

The stage is set for conduct of Medical Common Entrance Test – Association of Colleges (MCET-AC) – 2015 at 44 centres in 31 cities from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on May 30.

A total of 6,464 candidates have registered for the test, according to T. Ravi Raju, MCET-AC Committee Chairman and Vice-Chancellor of NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS).

Addressing media persons here on Friday, Mr. Ravi Raju said the test was being conducted by NTRUHS for filling 980 MBBS and 385 BDS management quota (B category) seats in 14 medical and 13 dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

The first key would be released on May 30 evening and the final key and merit list would be released on June 4. Objections if any on questions could be raised till June 1. Counselling would be held in July/August.

Telangana Government is holding its own test for admission to B category seats in private medical and dental on June 3 but the counselling would be conducted by NTRUHS.

Observers were being sent to all centres to ensure foolproof conduct of the on-line examination. MCET-AC will be held at four centres in Vijayawada city.

Mr. Ravi Raju said in the earlier setup, the management quota seats used to be filled by colleges on the basis of Intermediate marks obtained by the students but a separate test started to be held as per the Supreme Court directions.
