SIDS students find placement in Twills

Three students from city-based Samana Institute of Design Studies (SIDS) have been shortlisted for recruitment by apparel major Twills in a campus drive here on Friday.

According to the CEO of the institute Samana Moosavi, the three students Sana Firdose, Neha Bhararia and Harleen Oberoi will find placements as merchandisers in Twills stores across the district.

Confirming the campus drive, Twills General Manager M. Deepak told

The Hindu that three students out of 22, who attended the screening, have been asked to attend a final round after which they will be given the offer letters. Expressing his satisfaction on the interviewees, he said, “The students are creative and have bright future in the fashion world, if they continue to upgrade themselves.”

Giving a brief about the course, Ms. Samana said that it was a holistic course covering various aspects such as textile science, textile designing, illustration, pattern making, garment construction, merchandising, marketing and visual marketing. Exuding confidence, the students pointed out that the break had come at the right time and it would prop them up to pursue their passion. “One day we would have our own labels,” they said in chorus.
