Short film on organ donation in cinemas from today

‘Punarjanma’ the one-minute short film on organ donation featuring Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah will be screened in cinemas across the State starting from Friday prior to every show for one week.

Aimed at creating awareness about the need for organ donation among the masses, the short film, a Telugu version of ‘Back to the Future’ conceived and produced by Mukhi Media is supported by the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and AP Assembly Speaker K. Shiva Prasada Rao who will also be seen stressing on organ donation in the film.

Also, the helpline numbers of National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) of the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Andhra Pradesh’s Jeevandan programme will be displayed in the film.

The short film which was formally launched by Mr. Shiva Prasada Rao recently will be promoted by the Andhra Pradesh Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APFTTDC).

Mukhi Media director Krishna Mohan and CEO Pavani Prasad said that the short film is the first one in India to be screened in all theatres beginning with AP. The same will be screened in cinemas across the country later.

“We feel that the film kindles the spark in the minds of people and would help over five lakh people suffering organ failures in the country,” they said.
