Refusal of hall-ticket drives student to end life

Tension prevailed for some time in Jogipet of Medak district on Wednesday as an Intermediate first year student of a private college committed suicide allegedly for non issuance of hall ticket by the college management. According to sources, K. Sai Kumar of Sangupet went to college to attend examinations beginning Wednesday. However, the college management refused to issue hall ticket stating Rs. 600 was due from and was asked to pay the amount immediately to get the hall ticket.

In the rest of the State, Intermediate examinations, March 2013, commenced on a peaceful note in 2,633 centres on Wednesday. Of 19,96,967 students of both first and second year who registered for the examination, the first day’s attendance for the language paper I was 92.57 per cent and 21 cases were booked against those who indulged in malpractices, according to the Intermediate Board Secretary. Prior to the examination, Intermediate officials declared set 3 as the question paper for the Language paper –I .
