Students and staff of Y.V. Rao Siddhartha College of Education, Kanuru, on Friday arranged exhibition in connection with the National Science Day.
MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Rector K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao, the chief guest and guest of honour respectively for the event, went round the stalls arranged by students on various topics.
B.Ed students displayed projects on environment pollution, signal lighting system and other topics. College Principal G. Bhuvaneswara Lakshmi and other staff accompanied the guests.

Later, at a meeting held on the occasion, Mr. Sambasiva Rao stressed on the current year’s theme ‘Science for Nation Building’ and the role of a teacher in developing knowledge among students.
Rally
As part of the National Science Day celebrations, the A.P. State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST), Department of Forests, Environment, Science and Technology, organised a rally from the APCOST Regional Science Centre (RSC) in the city in which students of various municipal schools participated.

Quiz and essay writing competitions were conducted for the students. Resource person U. Lakshmi and RSC in-charge officer J.D. Dilleswara Rao explained the importance of science. Municipal Commissioner G. Veerapandian distributed prizes to the students who won prizes in the competitions. Students of Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana (KBN) College organised a science exhibition at the college.
