Praveen Kumar wins bowling honours

Praveen Kumar Mylavarapu won the bowling tournament organised by SVM Bowling and Gaming Zone by mustering 403 pins and pocketed the Rs. 15,000 cash award, according to T.D. Jagadeesh, cluster manager of the alley here on Sunday.

The second and third places went to Abdul Muzeeb (374) and Akilesh (373) respectively and the honour of registering the highest score in a single game went to Aakash, who scored 226 pins.

Muzeeb and Akilesh won Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 5,000, along with trophies respectively.

“This is the fifth tournament staged by SVM bowling alley in which players from Guntur and Hyderabad took part. Bowling is fast emerging as a favourite pastime and exercise among the locals, especially college students and business fraternity,” said Mr. Jagadeesh.The three-day tournament saw 60 players vying for honours and 16 qualified for the main draw.

‘The SVM bowling and Gaming has two alleys in city – LERPL Icon Mall at Benz Circle, LEPL Centro Mall at MG Road and the third one is coming up at Trendset Mall.’

He said balls with different weights are used in the competition. “The light weight is seven pounds while the heaviest one weighed 14 pounds,” he added.
