Police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming general elections. In the process, they are not even leaving politicians. According to Commissioner of Police B. Sreenivasulu, bags of leaders who arrive by flights or chartered helicopters will be scanned.

“Normally, baggage of passengers in the departure wing is scanned. But, to check the flow of illegal cash, baggage of all noted politicians will be scanned on arrival also,” he said.

This apart, police have set up as many as 16 check posts, and 2,500 personnel comprising local police and CPMF (Central paramilitary force) will be deployed during the polls.
