Nine persons accused in the P.G. Medical Entrance Test (PGMET) scandal were produced before the III Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate here on Sunday and sent to 14 days’ remand. They have been sent to the district jail in Vijayawada.

Investigation into the multi-crore scam continued as its nationwide ramifications became apparent after allegations were made by many students who could not get admissions in spite of securing high ranks.

The examination was conducted at 32 centres across Andhra Pradesh by NTR University of Health Sciences on March 2 and results were declared on March 16.

NTRUHS Vice-Chancellor T. Ravi Raj told The Hindu that the Governor has to take a call on conducting a re-examination and it would be known in a day or two.
