Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has appealed to the scientific fraternity, especially young scientists, to leave no stone unturned to ensure development and progress of the nation.
Delivering his valedictory address at the closing ceremony of the three-day Andhra Pradesh Science Congress 2018 on the Yogi Vemana University campus here on Sunday, Mr. Chandramohan Reddy urged youth to identify and grab every opportunity to make it big in life.
“The present generation has access to technology and vast information is at its reach. It can be used to make innovation for the benefit of society,” he said.

As the Agriculture Minister, he explained how the government embraced technology on a large scale in predicting changes in weather conditions through satellites and passing on the valuable information to the farmers. Similarly, nutritional deficiency is detected through soil testing and the gap filled through technology.
“These are the applications of scientific progress that directly benefits society”, he pointed out. Mr. Reddy congratulated the physical, chemical, pharmaceutical, environmental, geological and agricultural scientists for taking part in large numbers and deliberating at the congress.

AP Akademi of Sciences (APAS) Chairman Basaveswara Rao expressed happiness at the turnout at the fourth edition of AP Science Congress.
YVU Vice-Chancellor Attipalli Ramachandra Reddy thanked the government for extending support and encouraging the nascent university to prove its prowess in organising an event of this scale. He advised the students to participate more in such events as it would expand the horizons of their knowledge. Prof. Reddy later distributed certificates to the participating delegates.
