Telugu Desam Party Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency in-charge Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) appears to have failed to make a mark in the party during the last six months.
Everything appeared well, initially, when the city leaders began rubbing shoulders with Mr. Nani after he was made Vijayawada (Parliamentary) constituency in-charge. The relationships lost their fizz soon.
Mr. Nani is now facing rough weather within the party and looks not in good terms with district leadership and in-charge persons of constituencies.

Mr. Nani, a lateral entrant into the party, is facing organisational weaknesses and differences with party colleagues.
Dissent and discontent is growing in the TDP Urban unit with alleged “wrong moves” of Mr. Nani. He has failed to get support from his party colleagues, except leaders like K. Nagul Meera, sources say.
A difference of opinion cropped up between Mr. Nani and Vijayawada (Central) in-charge Bonda Umamaheswara Rao regarding extending invitation to CPI(M) leader Narasimha Rao into the party without the knowledge of constituency in-charge. The party cadre in Vijayawada Central raised a hue and cry over it and Mr. Umamaheswara Rao is learnt to have expressed his displeasure before the party leadership.

TDP Vijayawada (West) in-charge Buddha Venkanna has been at his wits’ end with anointment of K. Nagul Meera as TDP Urban president. Mr. Venkanna feels that Mr. Nani has paved the way for two power centres in Vijayawada (West) as Mr. Meera has being holding on to One Town area — where concentration of minority community population is high.
The cadre is now confused over the leadership.
Vijayawada (East) in-charge Gadde Rammohan Rao is at loggerheads with Mr. Nani saying that he is also an aspirant for Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency. Now, both Mr. Venkanna and Mr. Rao are confining themselves to their constituencies.
Above all, there is a tittle-tattle in the party that Mylavaram MLA and district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has instructed the leaders not to participate in any programmes without his knowledge. It gains importance, as Mr. Nani, sources say, has planned to organise programmes in every segment in his constituency. Mr. Nani’s followers feel the district president is “grooming discontent” against their leader.
The party leadership zeroed in on Mr. Nani at a time when it was searching for a candidate who could shoulder the expenses involved in the ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra as well and not just election expenses.
