Naidu gets a feel of bullet train

Passengers get into the Shinkansen bullet train at Tokyo station in Tokyo. Japan launched its bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka 50 years ago.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is keen to introduce a bullet train in the State, had a feel of its speed and comfort on Tuesday when he travelled from Kyoto railway station to Fukuoka City in it.

While travelling in the bullet train, Mr. Naidu reviewed the power situation in the State with Ajay Jain, Secretary to State Government, Energy Department. He also went around the shopping area in the railway station and inspected the waste disposal method.

Earlier while addressing Osaka Chamber Commerce and Industry, Mr. Naidu said A.P. had a strong infrastructure base. “We have a good road network and are planning bullet trains,” he said.

Assures investors

He asked the Japanese investors to invest with an open mind and put their fears to rest, while assuring that companies would get good incentives in the State.

Earlier during his visit to Panasonic Corporation, Takeshi Ueneoyma, Fellow at Panasonic Corporation told Mr. Naidu, “We are looking forward for an invitation from you. We will also explore collaboration in skill development.” The company also offered help in groundwater purification.

In his address Mr. Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to transform India. “India is a different country today. Last 10 years were plagued by policy paralysis. Now, we are an investor-friendly country,” he said.
