Chinarajappa presides over deliberations by three States

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa of Andhra Pradesh chaired a coordination committee meeting of all Left Wing Extremist-affected districts of A.P., Odisha and Chhattisgarh here in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

State DGP M. Malakondaiah, DIG (Visakhapatnam Range) Ch. Srikanth, IG of Greyhounds Nalin Prabhat, SPs of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts, senior police officers from Chhattisgarh and Odisha, officers from the Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force were present at the meeting.

It is learnt that the meeting focussed on tackling the Maoist issue in the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) areas and all Left Wing Extremist-affected districts in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The coordination committee meeting was started about three years ago on a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs and it was initiated to improve the coordination and exchange of information and intelligence inputs between the police and paramilitary forces who are engaged in anti-Maoist operations in the three States. The first meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the city in 2016.
