Krishna District Sports Development Officer B. Sudhakar on Friday said besides academics, students must hone their skills in other areas like games and sports.

Addressing students of Nalanda Vidya Niketan on the occasion of the school's annual sports day, Mr. Sudhakar said many students of Krishna district had risen to great heights in various sports. The local students must draw inspiration from them and treat sports as an important part of their curriculum.

Parents and teachers had a crucial role to play in mobilising their young ones to adopt sports as part of their daily curriculum, he said, pointing out that the Government was liberally doling out incentives for sportspersons.
