Learn your chosen game with passion, says Bonda

The month-long summer coaching camp, organised by Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) and District Sports Authority, was inaugurated by city Central legislator Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao at the IGMC Stadium here on Friday.

Speaking to young participants and their parents, he highlighted the importance of physical fitness and merits of pursuing sports and games. “Learn your chosen game with passion. Take the advice of the coaches and emerge as a fit human being,” the MLA exhorted youngsters.

District Sports Development Officer P. Ramakrishna said that training would be imparted in 21 disciplines both in the morning and evening sessions.

“The camps will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the evening.” He also said that camps will be held in 41 mandals in the district. City MRO Siva Rao, SAAP director Hanumantha Rao and others took part in the function.

South Central Railway Sports Association is also organising the annual summer camp for the children of railway employees in cricket, volleyball, basketball, football, tennis and athletics from May 6 to June 4 at Railway Stadium.

Two cricket nets — one concrete and other turf — will be operation at the Rail Stadium “We have spruced up athletic track, courts for volleyball, football, basketball and tennis,” said Arjuna Rao, Sports Welfare Officer.

Senior players like K.M. Chisty, A. Sridhar, (cricket), V. Kannan, T. Robert Kennedy, Mani (football), B. Anjaneyulu, A. Raja, V. Ramana (athletics), D. Netaji, A. Ramesh, P Subba Reddy (volleyball), Sk. Karimullah (tennis), Ch. Naveen Kumar and Karuna Kumar (basketball) will impart training under the supervision Mr. Arjuna Rao.

Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (TrD) K. Nagendra Prasad will inaugurate the camp.
