Kiran responds favourably to APNGOs’ plea for sanction of IR

The Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy is ready to give Interim Relief (IR) to the State government employees as a New Year Gift.

The Chief Minister responded favourably to a request by the APNGOs Association leaders to sanction IR to Government employees as a New Year gift. Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association (APNGOs) West Krishna branch president A.Vidya Sagar and Secretary Md.Iqbal talking to The Hindu said that they met the Chief Minister at the State Guest House and requested him to announce 50 per cent as interim relief to the State government employees.

The salaries of NGOs, government teachers, workers and pensioners should have been revised by July 2013 in accordance to the 10th Pay Revision Commission Report.

The government should pay interim relief to cover up for the delay, the delegation told the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister spent over one hour accepting representations and even cut a Christmas cake to oblige Congress leaders and workers who came to meet him. A Christmas cake was brought at the last moment to celebrate the day.

The Chief Minister cut the cake and gave pieces to Minister Kolusu Parathasarathy, MLAs D.Y. Das, Malladi Vishnu and Vellampalli Srinivas and MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, UDA chairman Vanukuri Srinivasa Reddy and BC leader Kolanukonda Sivaji.

Farmers’ plea

Farmers from six villages – P.Nainavaram, Nunna, Gollapudi, Pathapadu, Jakkampudi and Ambapuram – met the Chief Minister and submitted a representation that said the market value fixed for their lands was very low. Their land was being acquisitioned for NH-5 at very low rate.

They urged the Chief Minister to look into the matter and increase the book values so that they get good rate for their land.

The Chief Minister released a diary for 2014 brought out by the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ). He said the information given in the diary was very useful for journalists.
