January 31, 2013 02:15 pm | Updated 02:15 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA

Congress workers gave vent to their ire on Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for using “abusive” and “unparliamentary” language against former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and AICC president Sonia Gandhi, here on Wednesday.

Party workers, led by city congress working president Meesala Rajeswara Rao and heads of different wings, set ablaze an effigy of KCR. Irate women party workers kicked the effigy while it was burning and beat it with their footwear.

Addressing a gathering before burning the effigy, Mr .Rajeswara Rao said Jawaharlal Nehru made so many sacrifices for the country and his daughter Indira Gandhi sacrificed her life for the integrity of the nation.

Mr. Rajeswara Rao alleged that KCR was expelled from the Congress for running a job racket in Dubai. And today, the TRS leader was abusing Nehru and Indira Gandhi, the architects of modern India. “KCR is totally unworthy of making statements against such stalwarts,” he said. If KCR is of the view that India was unworthy, he was free to leave the country, Mr. Rajeswara Rao said.

Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu should also take moral responsibility for the remarks of KCR.
