Undeterred by political inexperience, a majority of Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) candidates in Krishna district are confident of putting up a good show as they are banking heavily on the Samaikyandhra sentiment and the role played by its president N. Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Although the fledgling party took its own sweet time in finalising the candidates, it was successful in giving tickets to new faces barring a few in 16 out of the 18 Assembly segments in Vijayawada and Machilipatnam parliamentary constituencies.
While other party contestants are banking on different aspects, JSP candidates believe the united Andhra sentiment is still persistent among people and this can be an edge for the party.

“People in general are frustrated with the way things were handled during the State bifurcation. They are still aspiring for the State to be united. And this sentiment will definitely work in our favour,” says Machilipatnam JSP parliamentary candidate Kammilli Srinivas, who claims to be an NRI.
