YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will begin his six-month Praja Sankalpa Padayatra on November 6.
The change in the date of the padayatra was announced after he held an executive committee meeting of the party held in Hyderabad on Thursday. Party leaders Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Ummareddy Venkateswarlu told the media that “The Padayatra would be held in 125 Assembly constituencies highlighting the failures of the Chandrababu Naidu government and stress the need for Special Category Status (SCS).”
During Yatra, the Leader of Opposition would send the message that the Party belonged to all sections of people, irrespective of caste, creed and region and that he would comply with the Court directive to return to the city every week and resume the walk the next day, the leaders said.

The Yatra would begin on November 6 at 11.00 AM from Idupulapaya and it would culminate at Ichchapuram after covering 125 constituencies in six months covering 3,000 km. He would embark on the Padayatra after offering prayers at Tirumala in the morning.
The remaining 50 constituencies Mr. Jagan would cover by bus. Mr. Jagan would address several meetings named Rachcha Banda and Palle Nidra, over hit halt in some villages during the Padayatra.
Mr. Jagan would attempt to visit every household in the constituency to listen to the needs of the people and in return tell them the failure of the Chandrababu Naidu government and highlight policies and promises of the YSR Congress Party that would benefit all sections of people. The Rachcha Banda (meeting place in villages) would be used to interact with locals. The Palle Nidra is a programme where the coordinators would sleep in the house of a local which would invariably belong to the weaker sections.

Infusing novelty into the programme, Mr. Jagan ordered that constituency-wise election manifestos would be drafted for discussion with locals and based on the inputs and data, the issues would be incorporated in the final election manifesto, the leaders said.
He also directed the coordinators to hold at least two meetings in the local engineering and medical colleges involving the students with special thrust on Special Category Status, they said.
En route, Mr. Jagan would interact with people at 5,000 locations decided by the local coordinators, address the meetings of about 180 social organisations and address 125 public meetings. There would also be road shows, flag hoisting besides addressing party workers. The goal was to contact 45 lakh families.
According to the routine schedule, Mr. Jagan would interact with visitors from 8.00 to 8.30 AM and the Padayatra would continue till 12.00 noon. There would be another session of meeting visitors from 3.00 to 3.30 PM before resuming the Yatra.
