“With five signatures (Ammawadi scheme, Palle palana etc) and six developmental works, I will change the fate and course of the entire State after becoming the Chief Minister,” said YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at a road show in Gannavaram, Krishna district, on Tuesday.
Arriving two hours behind the schedule, Mr. Reddy said only nine days were left for the elections. “It is time to elect the right MLA and MP and change our destiny. These elections are a fight between honest and conspiracy politics,” he said amid huge applause from the audience, who occupied every bit of space available on the rooftops, pavements and in front of outlets at Gandhi Chowk under the scorching heat.
Launching a tirade against Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, he accused Mr. Naidu of being hungry for power and making false promises to garner votes.

He is known for changing his stand and policies pre and post elections. For instance, he had promised to offer rice for Rs. 2-per-kg but after elections, he increased the price to Rs.5.25 per kg. Likewise, liquor ban was assured but he allowed belt shops to crop up in all villages, he said.
“I am 25 years younger than Mr. Naidu and will be associated with you for a long time. I cannot make false promises like him and am sure after elections he will lose his identity and so his party.” There was lusty cheering and whistles from the public, when he pointed to an elder woman saying “Paccha chira kattina avva, mana party symbol gurtundiga – fan.”
Earlier, YSRC Machilipatnam MP candidate, Kolusu Parthasarathy, said May 7 was only a ‘muhurtham’ for Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy to be sworn in as Chief Minister and people have already given their verdict for this elections. YSRC Gannavaram assembly constituency candidate D. Ramachandra Rao spoke.
