One unemployed youth will be hired as a volunteer for every BPL household with a monthly honorarium of ₹5,000 and the youth will door deliver benefits and rations, said YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
A day ahead of releasing the party manifesto, Mr. Jagan unveiled broad contours of a scheme for unemployed youth at an election meeting at Ajitsingh Nagar, which falls under the Vijayawada Central Assembly Constituency, here on Friday.
In addition to the ten youth who will be appointed by the government to constitute the secretariat, volunteers would be appointed with a monthly honorarium and made responsible for the implementation of welfare schemes.

Appealing to voters to elect YSRCP candidates to all the 25 Lok Sabha seats, Mr. Jagan said that with the support of the 17 Telangana MPs, Andhra Pradesh would definitely get the Special Category Status (SCS). Once the State gets the SCS, there would be an employment revolution in the State.
‘Fear over city’
The city had witnessed nothing but “goondaism, rowdyism and atrocities” in the past five years, he alleged. While best things were promised to people by the Telugu Desam Party before the elections, the very first gift the city got was a “call money sex scam” in which leaders played with the lives of the people who had taken loans.

He recalled how a local MLA and MP held an IPS officer “by his collar ” because he booked cases against their vehicles. Twentythree people who came to the city have a good time lost their lives when an illegal tourism boat capsized in the Krishna River.
Not a single arrest was made in any of these cases, Mr. Jagan alleged. There were over 300 liquor shops in the city with one shop for every street. The people of the city had to put up with “lies, corruption and injustice,” he said.
While Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was the richest in the country, the farmers of Andhra Pradesh were most debt-ridden and the poorest in the country, he alleged.
