The sun did not exactly come out blazing on the deeksha day, but still the hot and muggy weather kept most of the senior bureaucrats restless. Chief Secretary I.Y.R Krishna Rao was seen having a glass of coconut water, while many others were sipping water and juices ferried by their junior staff members.

DGP J.V. Ramudu and Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao were seen standing throughout the meeting that lasted for almost two hours. However, Principal Secretaries were seated in chairs before the dais.

A group of 200 young sportspersons added colour to the rally led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Dressed in yellow T-shirts , the sportspersons who are taking coaching in various disciplines at IGMC Stadium, welcomed Mr. Naidu at the Ramavarappadu Ring Road Centre.

There was a clamour for caps specially designed for the occasion. As the caps ran out of supply, a security person accompanying Minister asked a bureaucrat for his cap, which was already soaked in sweat. The officer tried to explain that the cap was already soaked, but the security personnel did not pay no heed and the officer simply had to give up his cap.
