Take a stroll into busy markets in Hyderabad, especially in old city, you can find ‘Green Bawarchi’ restaurants serving delicious chicken and mutton ‘dum biryani’. One can also find hot ‘paya’ (legs soup) dished out with ‘roti’ and ‘kebabs’. After having non-vegetarian food, these restaurants tempt customers with yummy ‘kurbani-ka-mita’ and other sweets.

From now onwards, food lovers from Vijayawada need not go to Hyderabad to have such tasty food as new Bawarchi multi-cuisine restaurants have sprang up at Autonagar check-post and Gayatrinagar near Benz Circle to dish out a wide variety of non-veg food.

Compared to Hyderabad, Bawarchi owners here have improvised and are supplying ‘kachi Lucknow nawabi biryani,’ ‘fish biryani’, and ‘chicken biryani’’ with ‘ulavacharu’ (horse-gram dish) to fulfil customers needs.

Restaurant General Manager Mohammed Abid Karim says the two outlets are started after many people from Vijayawada started enquiring about Bawarchi restaurants here.

“Gauging the public mood, we have decided to set up similar restaurants here and there is overwhelming response from customers,” he explains. He says the outlets are selling at least 100 plates of ‘biryani’ every day and the numbers increase during weekends. Sweets like ‘kurbani-ka-mita’, ‘double-ka-mita’ and ‘faluda lassi’ with dry fruits are offered.

This apart, parcels in the name of jumbo pack sufficient for eight members and family packs for four members are also sold.

“If a customer orders Chinese food, we are preparing and serving it within a few minutes,” Mr. Karim says.

These restaurants are selling snacks, biscuits, puffs and different flavours of cakes. “Our outlets are like one-stop destinations for non-veg food lovers,” he claims. He adds air-conditioned facility was provided for convenience of customers. .
