S.M. Sultan, legal advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association, has said as the Hyderabad elections had no observer from the IOA, it had no validity to function as APOA.

On the involvement of politicians in sports, Mr. Jayadev said: “When people from all walks of life could plunge into sports, why not politicians? My involvement does not mean I will be ignoring my political and other social responsibilities.”

Mr. Jayadev also ruled out any compromise with the rival faction and refused to comment on his fellow TDP leader and Rajya Sabha member C.M. Ramesh’s utterances. Incidentally Mr. Ramesh is an active member of the rival faction.
