HC Judge visits Social Welfare Hostel and AP Study Circle

Students pose questions on corruption and poor development

High Court Judge Justice B. Chandra Kumar visited the AP Study Circle, at Arundelpet, and the Social Welfare Boys Hostel at Edupugallu village on the city outskirts, and interacted with the students, on Sunday.

Justice Chandra Kumar gave tips for students on maintaining good health and advised them to emulate the freedom fighters, philanthropists and honesty officers in the society. “Youth can bring a change in the society and put an end to corruption. Work hard and try to be a good scientist, engineer, police officer or a public representative and serve the country with honesty”, Mr. Chandra Kumar said.

A 10th class student, D. Raja, of Social Welfare Boys Hostel, asked the judge what role a student of a developing country like India had to make it compete with the developed countries. Justice Chandra Kumar said that the youth should be committed and elevate into good positions to develop the country.

“Students should take inspiration from the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country and try to become good officers. Stop corruption, spurious seeds, duplication of drugs and book the guilty”, the judge said.

Responding to a question posed by a ninth standard student, S. Durga Prasad, on how corruption can be prevented in the society, Mr. Chandra Kumar asked the people to vote for a right candidate. Explaining how Alexander looted the country, but the message he gave before his death was lofty, the Justice asked the students to launch a campaign against corruption.

Later, Justice Chandra Kumar presented certificates to the students who topped in the essay writing and drawing competitions on ‘Child Rights’ and ‘Global Warming’.

Earlier, students of AP Study Circle asked the judge on whether the corrupt and inefficient public representatives can be recalled.
