Haribabu quits as BJP State chief

April 18, 2018 08:06 am | Updated 08:06 am IST - VIJAYAWADA

Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu on Tuesday resigned from the post of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president. He sent his resignation letter to party president Amit Shah thanking the high command for giving him the opportunity to serve the State unit.

When contacted, State general secretary J. Shyam Kishore said: “He resigned voluntarily and there is no direction from the high command to do so.”

Acceptance of his resignation is a formality as the leadership has plans to make big changes to the State unit following the pull out of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from the alliance. The BJP is working on a strategy as part of its “grandiose plans for southern States”.
