Government committed to fulfilling its promises: Deputy Speaker

Authorisation letters distributed to autorickshaw drivers in Guntur

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is committing to fulfilling all promises despite facing financial stress, Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupati said here on Friday.

“The Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is committed to delivering its promises made before the elections. The Chief Minister has decided to give ₹10,000 to 1.73 lakh auto/cab/maxi drivers in the State and this amount will be directly credited into their bank accounts under the YSR Vahana Mitra Scheme,’’ Mr. Raghupati said after distributing authorisation letters to the drivers during a function held at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram.

District Collector I. Samuel Ananda Kumar said that there has been on overwhelming response to the scheme and said that 14,312 people applied , out of which 13,992 beneficiaries were selected. The amount of ₹10,000 would be useful in paying insurance, carrying out small repairs and meeting fuel costs.

MLA of Tenali A. Siva Kumar said that the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme would benefit autorickshaw drivers and help them in times of distress.

MLAs Vidadala Rajani, M. Nagarjuna and others were present.
