After a brief lull, the water level in Godavari river at the temple town of Bhadrachalam started rising gradually following steady inflows from upstream of the river. According to sources in the Irrigation Department, the water level in the river at the temple town stood at 25.8 feet on Friday evening.

It is expected to rise further and reach 27 feet by Saturday morning, sources added.

Meanwhile, the low-level causeway across a stream near Cheekupalli village in Wajedu mandal came under a sheet of water, sources said. This yet again resulted in obstruction of vehicular movement on the main road leading to Chhattisgarh for several hours.
