The amount being paid towards funeral expenses to the family members of a deceased in-service and retired employees in AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has been enhanced from the existing ₹10,000 to ₹15,000.

In a circular released on Thursday, Corporation Vice-Chairman and Managing Director N.V. Surendra Babu said the management conceded a request made by the APSRTC Retired Employees’ Association that the funeral expenses be paid through any depot.

He also said that the payment of the money would not be delayed in case there was a delay in submission of the death certificate of the employee. The family members could submit ID-cards issued at the time of the retirement for travel and medical benefits, he said.
