Jonquil Cooper, film producer and resident of London, has been to Andhra Pradesh three times and has travelled across India over 10 times. But, her visit to attend the swearing-in of Chandrababu Naidu is special to her, as she plans to make a documentary on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
She travelled all the way from London along with her Telugu friends, Dr. Shekhar Vemuri and Chandra Sekhar Chandra, residents of the United Kingdom. “I have never witnessed such a ceremony, and it is very exiting to be here. Thanks to the Telugu NRI Forum in the United Kingdom which extended the invitation to me,” said Ms. Cooper. She claims to have been keeping track of the political developments in the State, especially post-bifurcation. “I like Telugu language, culture and traditions of Telugu people. But, bifurcation is a historic moment, and everyone is keen on how Mr. Naidu would handle the situation and develop Andhra Pradesh,” she said. During her two-week stay in the State, she plans to travel to Telangana as well. “Hyderabad is an important city, and I would like to travel in different districts and seek feedback from the public,” said the 43-year-old, who has produced three films and has been part of five others. The one-hour documentary will feature Mr. Naidu’s political journey, his achievements and challenges he is going to face while developing the State, she added.
“We conducted NRI TDP ‘Padayatras’ in London, Manchester and other cities in tune with Mr. Naidu’s Padayatra here. Impressed with our efforts, he extended an invitation to us,” said Mr. Chandra Sekhar Chandra, a member of Telugu NRI Forum.
