Flyover works: Collector conducts surprise check

Krishna district Collector Babu A. on Wednesday said to achieve the targets given for early completion of the flyover project near Kanaka Durga temple, the officials must make the best of the available resources.

He made a surprise visit to the project where works are in progress and directed the officials concerned to ensure that works at the approach road, the road abutting Krishna River banks and the revetment works run parallel. He said if the need arose, he would try and get additional funds sanctioned for the purpose.

The Collector inspected the places where pillars for the project are to be built.

He then spoke on the phone with officials of various departments involved in the flyover project and gave them necessary instructions. Mr. Babu spoke to Irrigation Department Superintending Engineer C. Ramakrishna and asked him to submit in a couple of days an action plan on the steps to be taken keeping in view the ensuing Pushkarams next year.

He then discussed in detail about the internal road with the L&T representative, Roads and Building SE Moshe and Executive Engineer Anjaneyulu. He also asked the Municipal Commissioner to make sure that no big hoarding or any other hurdle came in the way of the construction works.
