A huge replica of the Tirumala temple, tableaux on rural development, government’s agriculture policy and housing have been lined up for the Republic Day parade to be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IMGC) stadium. Besides, a tableau on land pooling for capital construction will be a major attraction.
As many as nine tableaux will form part of the parade. Compared to the Independence Day celebrations, there is a decline in the number of tableaux this time. More than 15 tableaux were presented in August at Kurnool.
Among the participants in the parade this year are Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Investment and Infrastructure (I&I), Civil Supplies, Education and Agriculture departments.

The Irrigation Department will showcase its ambitious plan to make the State drought-free.
Linking of Krishna and Godavari and inland water transportation are the other themes that will find place on the Irrigation Department’s tableau.
For the first time, sources say, the Planning Department is coming out with a tableau on ‘Smart Andhra Pradesh’. Besides, the I&I Department plans to recreate the Krishnapatnam port in its tableau.

Senior journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao, Doordarshan Vijayawada Centre head Sailaja Suman, and Kuchipudi Dance School former vice-principal Vedantam Radheshyam will be the judges.
