The Patamata police on Monday arrested five persons, who allegedly created false documents of a land worth crores of rupees. The property was located at Gurunanak Colony.

The accused allegedly tried to grab and sell the property and offered ₹10 lakh advance to real estate agents to look for buyers, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ghajarao Bhupal.

Disclosing this to newsmen, the DCP said the gang made a sale agreement on the 366 sq. yards land on the name of K. Soubagyam in 1980.

They created the general power of attorney in the name of her daughter, Sandhya Rani, in Gannavaram Sub-Registrar’s office.

The accused — K. Joseph Stanley and K. Raju, both real estate agents, builder K. Srinivasa Rao and businessmen M. Gopala Krishna and M. Raja Chand alias Rajesh — allegedly conspired to occupy the land and created some false documents.

Central zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N. Satyanandam said the accused made sale agreement of the plot to one K. Anjamma, and tried to sell it, after giving an advertisement in some newspapers.

Following a complaint, police swung into action, took the accused into custody, who reportedly confessed to the crime. Raja Chand was the main conspirator and was booked in call money case earlier. Srinivasa Rao was involved in three cases in the city, Mr. Bhupal said. “We are investigating the role of Soubagyam, Sandhya Rani, Anjamma and the employees in the Sub-Registrar office,” Patamata Circle Inspector K. Umamaheswara Rao said.
