With fasts and daylong prayer services in churches, the city observed Good Friday, marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Under scorching heat, holy processions were taken out at different places, including Pezzonipet, Gunadala Mary Matha shrine in the city. Special prayer services were also organised at churches till afternoon. Buttermilk was distributed to the people who came to attend Good Friday prayers.

In Machilipatnam, the Christian community of Machilipatnam observed Good Friday with special prayers in local churches.

Huge gathering of believers of the Christianity turned up at churches to join the procession and the participants took part in the prayers by the pastors.

The day-long prayers marked the Good Friday in the all the churches in the port town including the Noble and St. Francis and the Telugu Church.
