‘Explore potential in solar rooftop systems’

Concept, business models explained at ongoing training programme

The speakers at an ongoing five-day entrepreneurship development programme have asked the graduates and young professionals to tap the potential in solar rooftop system, which has a good demand in the market.

The training programme on ‘Solar PV Rooftop’ is being organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) from March 24 to 28, in the city.

The Gandhigram Rural Institute, a deemed to be university, Tamil Nadu, has been entrusted with the task of training graduates and new entrepreneurs under MNRE-USAID-Partnership to Advance Clean Energy-Development (PACE-D) Technical Assistance Programme.

Divisional Engineer (DE-Technical) of Southern Power Distribution Corporation Limited J. Sanjeeva Rao, USAID PACE-D consultant Deepanker Bishnoi, assistant DE D. Krishna Naik and others explained that the training session focussed on energy efficiency and clean energy finance.

Students were taught about the concept, design and components with specific focus on technical architecture of solar PV rooftop system, business models, role of stakeholders, and policy and regulatory framework at national and State levels.
