IITTM Nellore campus offers MBA, BBA courses, says PG programmes chairman

By recognising Tourism sector as one of the growth engines, the Andhra Pradesh Government has generated interest of the stakeholders in this particular segment.

“With tourism gaining popularity in this State, we want students to make the best of the courses offered by the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), South India campus at Nellore,” said Vinodan, Chairman for Post-Gradutate programmes at the institute at a press conference here on Thursday. These courses come with a 100 % placement guarantee, he added.

IITTM is an autonomous organisation of the Union Ministry of Tourism offering education, training, research and consultancy in the field of tourism, travel and allied sectors, he said.

The Nellore campus offers a 2-year-long MBA course in Tourism and Travel Management. Candidates who have passed degree in any discipline and are below 25 years (5 years exemption for SC/ST candidates) are eligible to pursue the course.

The Institute also runs a three-year course in BBA (Tourism and Travel). Intermediate or Plus-2 pass candidates who are below 22 years are eligible to apply (5 years exemption for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates).

The last date for applying is May 15. “The MBA programme is a unique blend of specialisation in Tourism and Cargo Management. The pedagogy of the programme helps the students to explore the opportunities in the areas of tour operations, tourism marketing, and air and shipping cargo management,” said Mr. Vinodan.
