DuPont aims at doubling revenues in five years

DuPont, the US-based multinational chemical company, aims to double its revenue from India in the coming five years. With at least one product release a year, the company is betting big on agri-sector which is expected to witness high growth according to DuPont’s Regional Business Director, Asia Pacific, Mark Swinchatt.

Mr. Mark, who was here to launch a new product Benevia insecticide for chilly crop, said, “We have increased our focus on India. As part of it, the country is prioritised for most of the global product launches.” Benevia, the new and high potential product is expected to contribute to over 20 per cent of the revenues from India according to him. The product was already launched in the US in March this year and it will make its way to Brazil and other countries including UK in the coming months according to the company.

For DuPont, India is witnessing over 20 per cent growth past five years and it is likely to double its revenues in five years, he said. DuPont has lined up four new products for launch in India in the coming four years. It has already launched over 20 products in India, a majority of which are in crop protection arena.

The global revenues of the multinational stand at $36 billion and food security, agriculture and nutrition segments contribute to a half of the revenue. The company is also present in related to photo-voltaic cells, non-conventional energy and physical protection kits.
