DRM visits NDRF 10th Battalion, watches demo

Promises all help to personnel during emergencies

NDRF personnel presenting a demo at Mangalagiri on Wednesday.

Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) R. Dhananjayulu visited the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 10th Battalion on Wednesday.

Mr. Dhananjayulu, along with Additional DRM M.V.S. Rama Raju, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner S.R. Gandhi, railway officers M. Prasad and P. Chaitanya interacted with In-charge Commandant Love Kumar and Deputy Commandant Madhusudhan Reddy and other NDRF officers.

The NDRF personnel displayed the cutters and other life saving equipment to the railway officials.

Equipment such as collapsed structure, search and rescue kit, medical first responder, life detector type-II, victim locating system, helmet mounted thermal imaging camera, smoke ventilator, aqua floating pump, hydraulic spreader and cutter and flood rescue equipment were exhibited.

They explained about the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) energy operations.

The force, wearing rescue dress and carrying life-saving equipment, gave a presentation on how they would enter the affected area, rescue the victims and shift them to a safe place.

The Divisional Railway Manager assured to extend all help to the NDRF during emergencies and agreed to take up joint operations during calamities.
