Vijayawada Central Assembly constituency legislator Malladi Vishnu and former Minister Devineni Rajasekhar spearheading the movement against division of the State on Thursday wanted TDP MLAs Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Dulipalla Narendra not to go on indefinite fast without asking their leader, N. Chandrababu Naidu, to withdraw the letter he wrote to the Central Government asking it to take a positive decision on division of the State.

Clarity sought

Mr. Rajasekhar said that Mr Naidu had been constantly changing the party stand on Telangana. He said there was a need for Mr Naidu to bring his party in to one line on the issue. It was very easy for a regional party like the Telugu Desam to take a stand on the issue, but it was very difficult for a national party like the Congress to take decisions because the ramifications in all the different States had to be taken into consideration.

Despite this difficulty the CWC took a decision to bifurcate the State, though the leaders of Seemandhra region had been opposing the division of the State continuously. Now the Seemandhra leaders were in a position to ask the CWC to reconsider its discussion.
