The alleged question paper leak in PG entrance examination conducted by NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) on March 2 is snowballing into a major controversy.
The aggrieved students are gathering evidence on the involvement of a person who was one of the main accused in the scandal that rocked the Government Medical College (GMC) at Chandigarh.
While Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has asked A.P. State Council of Higher Education Chairman L. Venugopal Reddy to inquire into the matter, the students are preparing a list of some of their peers who failed several times in semester exams but emerged top rankers.

They have decided to meet TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and others.
“We have clear evidence regarding the involvement of some of the top brass in NTRUHS, though all of them were not directly complicit”, a student, who secured 1,500th rank, told The Hindu on the condition of anonymity.
He alleged that seats were being sold for Rs. 1.50 crore to Rs. 2 crore.

Meanwhile, former MP Y. Sivaji demanded that the Governor should order a CBI inquiry into the multi-crore scam which, he said, could not have happened without the support of officers of NTRUHS. He asserted that the inquiry by the committee headed by Mr. Venugopala Reddy would serve no purpose.
